The victims in a double homicide in Winder were shot to death, according to Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith.
"We have been advised by the GBI and the autopsy results that both victims died of apparent gun shot wounds," Smith said in an email statement.
Smith released no other update in the deaths of Willard Ron Hess, 70, and his wife Doroty E. Hess, 72. Both were discovered deceased in their home at 430 Southridge Road on Monday, May 20. The couple's grandson found the bodies, according to investigators.
At last report, authorities continued to seek information about a black passenger vehicle seen on surveillance camera footage in the neighborhood.
