The man wanted by Jackson County deputies for injuring a one year old child was arrested Friday.

Sheriff Janis Mangum said, "We had obtained warrants on him for the injuries to the baby and we have been looking for him, actively, every day following leads that we were getting."

Friday morning, she said 24-year old Justin Michael Taylor turned himself into police on charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, and first degree cruelty to children.

Mangum said he broke the leg of his girlfriend's child on June 29th.

"Our children are our most vulnerable of our society and we're going to do everything in our power to hold people accountable when they harm a child," Mangum said.

After appearing in front of the Magistrate Judge Friday afternoon, Taylor remains behind bars and was denied bond.
