Heavy motorcycle traffic to impact I-985 for Dixon benefit ride Saturday morning

Motorists should expect delays on Interstate 985 and on roadways in a portion of north Hall County late Saturday morning, August 3, as motorcycle riders participate in a remembrance ride for fallen Hall County Deputy Nicolas Blane Dixon.

The Hall County Sheriff's Office said organizers of the event advised a large number of riders will be participating in the Punishers LEMC benefit event for the family of Deputy Dixon, who was shot and killed in the line of duty on July 8.

The riders are expected to leave from Frazier's Harley-Davidson on Friendship Road at approximately 11 a.m.

Ride organizers believe most riders will take the following suggested route: 

No roadways will be closed during the ride, but the Hall County Sheriff’s Office urges motorists to use caution and be patient when traveling in Hall County during the event.
