*Gainesville and Hall County public safety personnel will be recognized Nov. 2 at a “Public Safety Appreciation Day” to be held at the corner of Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard and McDonald Street.  They and their immediate families will be treated to a plate of chicken, hot dogs, and hamburgers.

*The Place of Forsyth County will hold a job fair at Browns Bridge Church, 3860 Browns Bridge Rd, Cumming, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Oct.25.

*Sautee-Nacoochee Community Association weekly update. 

*Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation announces a rate reduction for the remainder of 2019.  On average, each affected account will realize a decrease of about $12.37 for every 1,500 kWh used.

*State Rep. Kevin Tanner (R-Dawsonville) has been named chairman of the Georgia Behavioral Health Reform and Innovation Commission.  The appointment was made by Gov. Brian Kemp.

*Daves Creek Elementary School in Forsyth County is one of ten schools in Georgia named National Blue Ribbon Schools this week by U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos.   The recognition is based on the school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

*North Georgia Technical College is beginning the Fall Semester with eight new faculty members.
