The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce has announced this year's Arbor Day art and essay contest winners.
3rd Grade Art Award Recipients
*1st Place: Hattie Nicholson, Sardis Enrichment School
*Runner Up: Alexa Dillin, Enota Elementary
*Runner Up: Dana Jimenez; McEver Arts Academy
5th Grade Essay Award Recipients
*1st Place: Anthony Vargas, Sardis Enrichment School
*Runner Up: Ali Short, Sardis Enrichment School
*Runner Up: Phineas Sandi, Riverbend Elementary
More than 100 entries were submitted with the topic "I Speak for the Trees." The chamber's Beautification Committee and the Georgia Forestry Commission will recognize the winners at the annual Arbor Day Celebration Feb. 21 at the Atlanta Botanical Garden Gainesville. Open to the public, the event is coordinated by the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by the Hall County Master Gardeners, Keep Hall Beautiful and Georgia Power.
