Whether you have an opinion about the Royal Family or you like or loathe President Donald Trump, you have an opinion on who is telling the truth. Someone I’ve known for years called me “establishment” on social media. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or bad thing but I’ve had the same cell phone number for 25 years. It’s out there and I don’t screen my calls.
Establishment is not a bad word. I am a traditionalist, but I like to think I’m open to new ideas. I don’t believe in people I vote for anymore, but I do hold them accountable to do what they say they are going to do.
It’s a matter of trust.
So let’s go back in time. Reach out to people in your life and listen. Even if they don’t agree with you and listen. Did I say you need to listen?
We can get this country back on track by being respectful. I liked that Vince Vaughn, the actor, was friendly with President Trump at the College Football Championship. I liked that Michelle Obama and Ellen DeGeneres were friendly with former President Bush when they saw him. I hope we would all take the opportunity to strike up conversations with people we don’t know or take the opportunity to have a conversation with a former President of the United States if I could.
The Duchess of Sussex, Megan Markle Windsor, is quoted as saying, “If you give something 5 minutes, you should be willing to give it 5 years…” or something like that. Are you willing to do that or do you have a better way to approach it.
It’s a matter of trust. Let’s get working on it.
