Four suspects remain at large following more than a dozen auto break-ins at the Sterling on the Lake subdivision earlier this week.
Investigator Robin Kemp with the Flowery Branch Police Department said the crimes happened on Tuesday, Oct. 6 between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m.
Kemp said getting a viable description of the suspects has been difficult because all were wearing masks, hoods and gloves.
"At least one of them was talking [based on] the recordings from a security camera - you could hear a male voice," Kemp said.
He also noted that one of the four was armed with a handgun and that is a concern to law enforcement.
"We don't know if they would shoot at somebody that approached them, but I would say don't approach those people, call 911," Kemp said.
Kemp said of the 14 vehicles that were entered on Tuesday morning, all were unlocked. He said locking a vehicle can be a deterrent, since most thieves are looking to commit a crime quickly and leave the scene. Kemp said the vehicle owners also had left valuable in their vehicles, and that's not a good idea, either.
"There were several items taken from those vehicles, including a handgun, iPhones, iPads, pocketbooks, keys, credit cards," Kemp said.
While surveillance footage also captured a small, white vehicle possibly used by the suspects, Kemp said the image of the vehicle was blurry, so investigators aren't sure what the make and model of the car might be.
Kemp said similar auto break-ins have occurred at other neighborhoods in the South Hall area. He did not know if there was a connection with the Sterling on the Lake crimes.
