Donald "Don" Ralph Whitmire, a former chairman of the Hall County Commission, died Thursday at the age of 86.
Whitmire served several terms on the Hall County Commission, including one term as chairman.
Whitmire began his business career in the poultry industry with one of his brothers, establishing Don & Doug's Hatchery. He later became a well-know land developer, developing a number of communities across North Georgia.
Funeral services for Don Whitmire are scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he was a longtime member. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery.
