*Northeast Georgia Health System and local senior resources will host a special event - How Best To Care For Those We Love - Feb. 29 featuring the author of "Driving Miss Norma," Ramie Liddle, as she shares the story of a family's journey after saying "yes" to living following a terminal diagnosis. Two sessions are planned: 9:00-11:00 at The Venue at Friendship Springs in Flowery Branch and 2:00-4:00 at Gainesville's First Baptist Church. There is no charge.
*Forsyth County Water and Sewer Superintendent Johnny Millwood was recognized by the county’s Board of Commissioners recently for 25 years of service with the county.
*This year's Greater Hall Chamber’s Business EXPO will be held February 20 at Lanier Technical College’s Ramsey Conference Center. The event kicks off with the Annual Business Luncheon followed by a sold-out expo with over 60 interactive exhibits and A Taste of Gainesville at Business After Hours. It is free and open to the public and will include a free on-site shuttle service.
*Dawson County EMS Division Chief/Fire Marshal Jeff Baily was deputized by state Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner John King Tuesday. As a Deputy State Fire Marshal, Baily will now be allowed to perform state inspections of local businesses, an act that normally falls to the state fire marshal’s office to perform.
*The Georgia Mountain Regional Commission’s Career Coach will be at the Cumming Library on Dahlonega Street Feb. 13, 10:00-2:00, to help job seekers.
