The resurfacing the State Route 10 loop in Athens and a portion of Georgia 385 in Habersham County were among the projects included in the latest contract awards by the state Department of Transportation.
Together, the cost of the two projects is put at just over $12 million. Thee Athens work is expected to cost $10.8 million and be finished by December.
It will cover about 12 miles and begin just north of the Milledge Avenue Bridge and extend to south of US 78/SR 10.
The Habersham County work represents a $1.3 million investment and will begin just north of State Route 17 and extend to north of SR 15. The 5.4-mile project is also expected to be finished by year's end.
