A Clermont man who apparently suffered a medical emergency collided with another passenger vehicle and a Hall County school bus on Cleveland Highway early Wednesday morning, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
Sgt. C.E. Parker said the crash was reported at 7:38 a.m.
"A Dodge Ram was traveling north on SR 11 (Cleveland Highway) in the area of Hulsey Road," Parker said in an email statement. "Witnesses described the driver of the Dodge had failed to maintain its lane and got stuck in a ditch. When the driver, Ray Bryson, 77, of Clermont, re-entered the roadway, it began to pass two cars and a school bus that was stopped to turn left onto Hulsey Road."
At that point, the truck hit a Ford Edge that was traveling southbound on Cleveland Highway and then hit the front left bumper of the bus.
"Mr. Bryson is suspect of having a medical issue, which contributed to the crash and [he] was transported for treatment," Parker said. "The driver of the Ford Edge, 36 year old Natalie Rizquallah, from Clermont was transported for treatment, as well."
Parker said the two students and the driver on board the bus were not injured. The Hall County School District sent another bus to transport the students to North Hall Middle School.
Parker said no charges are anticipated.
