Two unrelated homicide cases in Gwinnett County -both occurring Thursday night - remain under investigation.
Gwinnett County Police Cpl. Michele Pihera said one incident happened in unincorporated Lawrenceville, while the other occurred in Duluth.
The first homicide occurred around 8 p.m. at Fairway View Apartments in Duluth.
"Officers from the Central Precinct were dispatched to a person shot call," Pihera said in an email statement. "They arrived on scene and found a male and a female with gunshot wounds. The officers immediately rendered aid. The male victim is deceased, the female victim has life-threatening injuries and is being treated at a local hospital."
Pihera said a suspect, who sustained non life-threatening injuries, is in custody.
Meanwhile, just before 9 p.m. officers were called to a home on Lockridge Lane in unincorporated Lawrenceville where a woman came home to find a family member dead.
"When officers arrived, they located a deceased male inside the home," Pihera said. " A female family member told the responding officers that she came home shortly before the 911 call to find the male unconscious."
The 911 call indicated the man had been shot.
No suspect description was available for the Lawrenceville case.
Police have not released the names of those involved in either incident.
