A Lula man has been arrested in connection with three burglaries that occurred in May and June of last year.
The Hall County Sheriff's Office said Jody Shea, 51, was arrested Friday, April 24 after tipsters told them he was in a shopping area along Jesse Jewell Parkway. Deputies said Shea tried to run from them, but he was caught before he ran inside of a business.
When he was booked into the Hall County Jail, Shea was charged with first-degree burglary and two counts of each of smash-and-grab burglary and second-degree criminal damage to property.
Investigators said the charges related to a restaurant theft on Price Road on May 29, 2019. He also damaged a window of the restaurant during the break-in. On the same date, Shea allegedly entered an adjacent apartment unit and stole make-up products from the residence. Authorities said the resident was home at the time, but she was not hurt.
Then, on June 4, 2019, Shea reportedly broke a glass door to gain entry into a convenience store on Cleveland Highway. About $500 worth of cigarettes and vape oil was stolen during that break-in.
Shea remained in jail at last report.
