A man from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina was arrested on I-85 in Franklin County after authorities found a large quantity of methamphetamine and heroin in his vehicle.
According to a report from Special Agent in Charge Trent Hillsman with the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO), deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office made a traffic stop on a vehicle on Sunday, May 3.The vehicle was occupied by Matthew James Rawliffe, 35.
A search of Rawliffe's vehicle turned up approximately one kilogram of methamphetamine and several grams of heroin, according to Hillsman. The meth alone had a street value of $12,000.
Deputies also found a firearm in the vehicle.
Rawliffe faces the following charges:
- Trafficking Methamphetamine
- Possession with intent to distribute Heroin
- Possession with intent to distribute Methamphetamine
- Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
Hillsman said the investigation remains active.
