A Tennessee man has been arrested in Lumpkin County after law enforcement found methamphetamine, cash and a weapon in his vehicle Wednesday.
Lt. Alan Roach with the Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office said patrol deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Chrysler 200 at the intersection of South Chestatee Street and Magnolia Drive in Dahlonega. The vehicle was being driven by Bobby Dail Rush, 51, of Cookeville, Tennessee.
"While conducting this traffic stop, K9 Diesel was used to conduct a free air search of the vehicle, and a positive alert was shown," Roach said in a press statement. "The deputies then conducted a search of the vehicle and located over four-ounces of methamphetamines, a handgun and over $2,000 cash which was seized."
Rush was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a firearm during certain crimes, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a Schedule II narcotic and possession of drug-related objects.
