COVID-19 spread delays in-person learning for 2nd semester at some North Georgia school districts

Because so many North Georgia school systems are opting to delay face-to-face learning for spring semester, AccessWDUN has compiled a list of those schools that have opted for virtual learning to begin the new year. Please contact your individual school system if you have specific questions for your student(s). 

Banks County School System
Online classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 5 and continue through at least Friday, Jan. 8, according to a statement released last week by school district officials. 

Gainesville City School System 
Virtual classes will begin Wednesday, Jan. 6 and continue through Friday, Jan. 15

Habersham County School District
Online learning for students begins Thursday, Jan. 7.

Hall County School District 
Virtual classes will begin Tuesday, Jan. 5 and continue through at least Friday, Jan. 8. School district officials will announce an updated plan by the end of the week.

Lumpkin County Schools
Virtual classes begin for all students on Thursday, Jan. 7.

Rabun County Schools
Students will attend school on a virtual basis until Friday, Jan. 15. Additional information on a plan for the rest of the month should be released next week.

Students will learn from home until Friday, Jan. 15. Students who normally receive in-person instruction will return to that format on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
