Gainesville Schools to replace bus cameras

Posted 6:00AM on Sunday 7th November 2021 ( 2 years ago )

Gainesville City Schools buses will get new camera systems in the new year.

The cameras will be replaced on all 70 buses, according to Chief Operations Officer Adrian Niles with the school system.

"The record and playback is now almost at live time," said Niles. "The software allows our principals to have access to pull the feed as well, and not actually have to go to our bus shop to pull the feed. And, it's directly connected with our internal software as well so we don't actually have to go to the bus and manually pull the cassette, we can actually do it more IP-based."

Niles said the cameras will be replaced in January and should be completed by February.

247Security Inc out of Alpharetta will replace the cameras for a total of $40,392.20
