Gwinnett County is hosting a community engagement opportunity in search of input on the future of Gwinnett Place Mall, which was recently purchased by the county.
The "Meetings-in-a-Box," input opportunity will take place at Berkmar High School in Lilburn from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 10. Dinner will be provided to those who attend the meeting. Participants are encouraged to register here.
“For this particular project, we’re doing redevelopment differently. This will not be a top-down approach,” Board Chairwoman Nicole Hendrickson said in a prepared statement. “We are the most diverse county in the state of Georgia and it’s important to me and to our board that we involve our diverse stakeholders in driving this process.”
While the Wednesday meeting is being run by the county, community conversations surrounding the mall can also happen on-demand.
A meetings-in-a-box toolkit can be found on ReclaimGwinnettPlaceMall.com. The toolkit helps facilitate conversation on the mall with a script and a list of questions. The conversations should last no more than one hour and 15 minutes. Each group is asked to have between eight and 12 participants and a designated notetaker.
After an on-demand meeting, feedback should be sent to ReclaimGwinnettPlaceMall.com by Friday, Nov. 12.
