It’s Lung Cancer, What Next?

Many of you know I have lost three close relatives to lung cancer. On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to talk with Chris Draft, former NFL player for the Falcons and others and lung cancer education advocate. His wife, Keasha, was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2010 and died a year later. So many of us have lived this story with our loved ones, but there’s new research and more and more, it doesn’t have to be this way.

Chris Draft has committed his life to changing the narrative around lung cancer, research and survival. Chris was so inspiring to me, and my journey and he looks at life in a positive way. He took his grief and accomplished something good. I hope you will log onto the Chris Draft Family Foundation and find out how you can help.

The prognosis of a lung cancer diagnosis has improved dramatically in the last 10 years and there are treatments. We need to relook at how we think about fighting lung cancer. Not smoking is a big part of the fight, but most people get lung cancer from other causes and we need to continue research and treatment.

Take a listen to my discussion with Chris and Merry Christmas.
