Boys soccer playoffs: Jefferson advances to semifinals with win over Columbus

COLUMBUS — The Jefferson boys soccer team booted two penalty kicks to knock off Columbus, 2-0, in the quarterfinals of the Class 4A playoffs on the road Wednesday.

Kupa Katompa and Cort McCormack hit the PKs to send the Dragons to the semifinals for the second-straight season (the 2020 season was canceled).

Jefferson will play the winner of Southeast Whitfield-Benedictine next week.
