ORIGINAL STORY MAY 14, 2021, 3:30 P.M. On April 12, Hall County Sheriff's Office investigators took out arrest warrants for a Gainesville man wanted on rape and child molestation charges; today, they're asking for assistance from the public in the ongoing search.
Selvin Arnulfo Hernandez-Bonilla, 24, is wanted on two counts of rape, one count of aggravated child molestation and three counts of child molestation.
"Hernandez-Bonilla was last seen in the area of his previous residence on Royal Way in Gainesville, driving a black foreign passenger car," said Hall County Sheriff's Office spokesman Derreck Booth in a media statement.
Booth said the suspect is known to have worked in the HVAC businees.
"[He] uses several aliases: Alex Bonilla, Selvin Arnulfo Bonilla, Selvin Bonilla, Selvin Arnulfo Hernandez," Booth said.
Booth said one of the rape charges stems from an incident where Hernandez-Bonilla sexually assaulted a female victim at his residence in the 1200 block of Royal Way. The reported crime happened on June 6, 2020.
"The remaining charges stem from several incidents involving a different female victim, who was under the age of 16," Booth said. "Hernandez-Bonilla committed those crimes at the victim’s residence in Hall County between Sept. 1 and Nov. 30, 2019."
The suspect also has several outstanding warrants for a traffic incident on Athens Highway at Monroe Drive in Gainesville on the morning of Jan. 31, 2017.
Hernandez-Bonilla is approximately 5-feet-6 inches tall and weighs roughly 175 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
Booth said anyone who sees Hernandez-Bonilla should not approach him, but call 911. Anyone who has information on the suspect's whereabouts can contact Sheriff’s Office Investigators J. Phillips and R. Sinyard at 770-536-5206 or 770-297-4697.
