Three suspects, including a mother and son, have been arrested in Rabun County after investigators found a stash of weapons and ammunition, illegal drugs and the bodies of federally-protected birds on some property in Rabun Gap.

Frances Evans Doling, 67, her son John-Everett Doling, 28, and Matthew Charles Bosch, 31, face a list of drug and weapons charges. All three suspects live in Rabun Gap.

Chief Deputy Scott Cheek with the Rabun County Sheriff's Office said in mid-June investigators received an anonymous tip about possible drug activity at 737 Hope Haven Lane in Rabun Gap. The investigator obtained search warrants for the residence as well as for a storage unit located a couple of miles away from the home.

Cheek said authorities found several firearms and ammunition when they searched the home and they discovered numerous other weapons at the storage facility. While the weapons did not appear to be stolen, they were discovered alongside a quantity of narcotics, which is illegal.

Cheek said investigators confiscated suspected  methamphetamine, marijuana laced with LDS, psilocybin mushrooms, acid, ecstasy and other assorted narcotics. He said investigators are still calculating the street value of the illegal drugs.

In addition to the drugs and the weapons, investigators discovered a red tail hawk mounted above the closet door in one of the bedrooms of the home, according to Cheek. He said investigators also found inside the closet several skulls and a bird thought to be an Indian Kingfisher in packaging. The remains of another red tail hawk were discovered in the freezer. Cheek said the Georgia Department of Natural Resources was called to investigate because red tail hawks are federal-protected birds.

Bosch has been charged with two counts of Possession of Schedule I or II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, two counts of Possession of Schedule I Controlled Substance, Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects, and Trafficking in Cocaine, Illegal Drugs, Marijuana or Methamphetamine.

John-Everett Doling was charged with two counts of Possession of Schedule I or II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects, and Possession of Firearm During Commission of or Attempt to Commit a Felony.
