A group of twelve suspects accused in more than 200 burglaries with over $2.1 million in stolen property out of Gwinnett County have been indicted on a total of 66 felony counts.
According to a press release from the Gwinnett County Police Department, the suspects targeted people of Asian descent in their crimes, which date back to 2019. They would force entry into a home and steal valuable items such as money, jewelry and identification documents.
In addition, the suspects are connected to burglaries in other Georgia counties, including Forsyth, Oconee, Clarke, Bibb, and Fayette. They are also linked to burglaries in Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
On August 9, the Gwinnett County Police Department Burglary Unit executed two search warrants and located approximately 200 expensive handbags, as well as money, jewelry, counterfeit social security cards and passports.
