A suspect is in custody following a shooting incident in Lumpkin County Tuesday afternoon.
Although details are extremely limited, Lumpkin County Sheriff Stacy Jarrard said in a social media post that the shooting was the result of a dispute between neighbors that escalated to the point of violence.
The county Sheriff's Office was alerted to the shooting at 1:20 p.m., and facilitated the victim's transport from the scene to a local medical facility.
An arrest was made following the shooting, and Jarrard said there did not appear to be any danger to those in the vicinity of the shooting.
