GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Lakeview Academy scored 37 unanswered points to seal a 44-6 win over Riverside Friday night at Lion Field.
The Lion offense accumulated 275 yards of total offense while holding Riverside to just 77 yards.
Landon Hanes got the ball rolling for the Lions early on with his first of four rushing touchdowns on the night, punching it in from a yard out to take the early lead. The Eagles punched back with a 62-yard pass from Luca Dimartino to Simon Hodge-Hampton to cut the lead to 7-6 after a failed two-point conversion.
From there, it was all Lions as Hanes scored from 5 yards away to take a 13-6 lead into halftime before a 29-yard rushing touchdown late in the third quarter to push the lead to 21-6.
Lakeview scored four times in the fourth quarter, starting with a 2-yard rushing touchdown by Armand Long before Hanes sprinted in from 50 yards away to take a 35-6 lead. Shelton Maynard wrapped up the offensive scoring with 4:30 to play on a 5-yard rush before the Lions got a safety to finish the night.
Lakeview will host George Walton next week while Riverside wraps up the season at home againse Loganville Christian.
