One person was found dead after a business fire Wednesday night on the 100 block of Stone Mountain Street SW in Lawrenceville.
Gwinnett County firefighters responded to a 911 call at 5:26 p.m. On arrival, crews noticed a single-story, wood-frame business with heavy smoke and fire showing. According to a press release, firefighters established a positive water supply and distinguished the fire.
During the primary search of the structure, they found one person dead.
An adult male who was found walking away from the scene denied medical assistance and was detained for questioning by the Lawrenceville Police Department.
The investigation is ongoing in a joint effort between Gwinnett Fire Investigators and Lawrenceville Police Department.
