GAINESVILLE — After a half-decade of dominance, the North Hall wrestling team will have its third head coach in as many seasons beginning in the 2022-23 school year.

North Hall Athletic Director Sam Borg announced Friday that Mason Patton will be taking over the wrestling program for Wesley Adams, who was head coach just one season after many years as an assistant with the program.

Adams stepped down to pursue a different career field.

Patton is a graduate of Banks County High School and was a four-time state medalist and a one-time state finalist. He began his coaching career in 2014 working at Cornell’s Regional Training Center. He then returned to Georgia in 2019 to Dacula High School where he spent two years as an assistant to the program and one year as the Falcons head coach.

The Trojans did not make it to the Duals state finals tournament this past season, losing to Gilmer in the first round.
