No injuries were reported after Hall County Fire Rescue personnel responded to a fire at a small apartment complex on Gilleland Extension.

The personnel were dispatched about 4:25 p.m to the fire on the 3500 block of Gilleland Extension, located off Poplar Springs Road and Gilleland Circle.

"When HCFR units arrived on scene, there were flames blowing out of the front of the residence," said Hall County Fire Rescue spokeswoman Kimberlie Ledsinger. "The flames eventually spread to the left and back side of the structure. Due to the length and angle of the driveway, all units remained at the top of the driveway stretching a hose line down the hill to attack the fire."

The deployment of the hose line allowed firefighters to then quickly extinguish the bulk of the fire.

Multiple residents were displaced by the fire and will be assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and is being investigated by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.
