The Georgia Department of Education has recognized eight Gwinnett County Public Schools for their efforts in helping students improve their reading skills.
These eight are part of the 155 total schools from around the state to be recognized as 2022-2023 Literary Leaders. Schools are recognized as such based on their 3rd grade students' reading levels. If 90% or more of the school’s 3rd grade students are reading at their grade level or higher, the school is recognized for outstanding achievement. Schools with a 15% or higher increase from last year are recognized with outstanding growth. Below is the complete list of the eight Gwinnett County Public Schools honored:
- Anderson-Livsey Elementary School (Growth)
- Craig Elementary School (Achievement)
- Gwin Oaks Elementary School (Achievement)
- Ivy Creek Elementary School (Achievement)
- Level Creek Elementary School (Achievement)
- Roberts Elementary School (Achievement)
- Simpson Elementary School (Achievement)
- Trip Elementary School (Achievement)
