The University of Georgia School of Law was recently named the nation's best value in legal education in the National Jurist ranking.

UGA said in a release this is the fourth time in the past six years that the school has occupied the top spot in the rankings.

“The School of Law is redefining what it means to be a great national public law school by providing the best return on investment in legal education – one that offers world-class, hands-on, purpose-driven educational experiences with a pioneering commitment to affordability and accessibility,” School of Law Dean Peter B. “Bo” Rutledge said.

Recent metrics that contribute to this recognition include:

“I am grateful to the University of Georgia administration, which is led by President Jere W. Morehead, and our alumni, alumnae and friends who continue to back our vision enabling our students to pursue legal careers based on their passions, not their wallets,” Rutledge said. “Our students earn a world-class law degree at a cost that allows them to seriously consider public service or government employment alongside a private practice position at a major law firm. This professional freedom has the power to make them better legal leaders and to maximize their contributions to state and society.”

The UGA School of Law earned the top spot in the rankings three years in a row from 2018 to 2020.
