The Hall County Sheriff's Office arrested a man in connection to a Thursday morning residential burglary in Clermont.
HCSO officials said James Barney Sheffield, 51, of Clermont kicked in the door of the victim's home and fled when the victim said she had a firearm.
The victim was not injured in the incident.
According to officials security camera footage confirms the victim's account of the incident.
An HCSO deputy arrested Sheffield at his home in the early morning hours of Thursday. Officials said Sheffield lives across the street from the victim's home.
During the arrest, Sheffield allegedly discarded a bag of a substance that appeared to be crystal methamphetamine.
Sheffield was allegedly watching the victim's residence for multiple days prior to the break-in.
Sheffield faces charges of felony burglary, possession of methamphetamine, abandonment of dangerous drugs, and loitering or prowling.
He remains in the Hall County Jail as of the last report.
