MOUNT AIRY, Ga. – North Forsyth pulled away in the fourth quarter to get past Habersham Central to clinch a playoff spot with a 36-19 win Friday night.
Habersham Central opened the scoring as DJ Pass scored on a 25-yard run to take a 6-0 lead. North Forsyth answered as Cole Smith cought a 3-yard pass from Eli Seaney to take a 7-6 lead after the made point after attempt. Habersham Central scored to retake the lead midway through the second quarter on a Antonio Cantrell 1-yard plunge, but the point after was missed again.
North Forsyth picked it up four minutes later and scored on an 11-yard pass from Seaney to Brady Holbrook to push the lead to 15-12. After halftime, Darron Parry extended the Raider lead on a 7-yard run that pushed the lead out to 22-12. Holbrook trimmed the lead back to 22-19 on a 2-yard run, but the fourth quarter was owned by North Forsyth as Walker Roberts caught a 5-yard touchdown from Seaney on the first play of the fourth. Parry wrapped up the night on a 19-yard score with 4:08 left.
Seaney finished the night with 218 yards passing on 20-of-31 passing, while Parry led the ground attack with 133 yards rushing. Pass finished the night 9-for-21 passing for 198 yards.
North Forsyth will host Gainesville next week, while Habersham Central will look to keep pace in the playoff picture with a road game at Apalachee.
