BREMEN, Ga. – White County had their chances early in the third quarter, but Bremen's defense stood strong as the home team pulled away to a 40-17 win Friday night in the opening round of the Class 3A playoffs.
Bremen took a 12-0 lead into the second quarter before the Warriors got on the board as Ryan Fowler found the end zone for a 3-yard rushing score to cut the lead to 12-7. After a Bremen score pushed the lead to 19-7, Hayden Vandagriff kicked a 28-yard field goal to cut into the lead at the break, 19-10.
The Warriors pushed the ball into the Bremen red zone twice in the third quarter, but an interception and a fumbled handoff on those two drives kept White County out of the endzone, setting up Bremen to start putting points on the board at a frantic pace.
Bremen ran the score up to 40-10 before Ryan Fowler ran in from 28 yards to get to the final score with just over 90 seconds to play.
Bremen will take on Cedar Grove next week.
