Sunday night's Busch Light Clash at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was slowed by 16 caution flags over 150 laps. That compared to five caution flags over the same distance in 2022.
Needless to say, that was not what was expected going into the NASCAR Cup Series' annual preseason opener.
On this week's Hard Left Turn podcast, our intrepid trio unpacks what happened in the City of Angels, including;
-After being shut out of victory lane in 2022, Martin Truex, Jr. opened his season with a win in the Clash.
-Among the 16 caution flags on the night (25 if you count the heat races and last chance qualifiers), one stood out, when a shove from Austin Dillon sent Bubba Wallace hard into the outside wall with a handfull of laps to go as the two raced for second.
-After a lot of talk about having fixed the problems with the rear end of the new Cup Series car in the off-season, some are still complaining about the issues of hard hits.
-After getting good reviews last year, this years Clash at the Coliseum does not seem to have the fans on its side.
