The Hall County Sheriff's Office arrested a Flowery Branch man Friday after he was allegedly found in possession of $23,000 worth of heroin.
According to a press release from the agency, Samuel Lopez, 28, was arrested at Hall County Sheriff's Office Headquarters on a heroin trafficking charge. The arrest stemmed from a Feb. 28 drug seizure.
Officers with the Oakwood Police Department contacted Hall County Sheriff's Office Investigators when they found about 155 grams of suspected heroin in a pickup truck at the intersection of Mundy Mill Road and Mathis Drive. Police responded to the intersection because the truck was in the roadway and was not moving.
Lopez, the driver of the truck, was taken to the hospital for evaluation. Investigators then obtained the warrant for his arrest on March 1.
Lopez remained in the Hall County Jail without bond as of Tuesday morning.
