No one injured after single-story home in Buford burns down

A single-story log cabin-style home in Gwinnett County burned down and was considered a total loss Wednesday afternoon.

Firefighters with Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services responded to the house fire in the 6000 block of Garrett Road in Buford. Once on scene, crews found a home sitting on a basement fully involved with flames, approximately 1,000 feet from the main roadway.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire after an hour, according to officials.

The home sustained heavy damage and was considered a total loss. Officials report there were no injuries to any residents or crew personnel.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
