A late morning fire in Lilburn Saturday destroyed a home and left one adult resident with non-life-threatening injuries.

Crews with Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services were dispatched at 11:50 a.m. Saturday to a house fire on the 600 block of Brockinton Way SW in Lilburn. They arrived at 11:53 a.m. and immediately began extinguishing efforts, according to Firefighter Captain Ryan McGiboney.

Three adult family members were inside the home when the flames broke out, but were able to escape safely. One of the adults was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released by medical crews at the scene.

“We're thankful everyone is safe after an afternoon fire destroyed a large portion of this house in Lilburn earlier today,” GCFES officials wrote in a social media post. “Working smoke alarms save lives!”

Three engines and a ladder truck responded to the call.

The cause of the fire is currently undetermined and remains under investigation.
