Forsyth County emergency officials are asking the public to fill out a survey to help them assess damage across the county done by strong storms that blew through the area Thursday.

In a social media post Saturday, Forsyth County Government officials posted a link to the survey. The post said that the survey would help the county assess damage and assess resource needs. Officials also said the survey could help them determine if the county qualifies for disaster assistance.

The survey will remain open for almost two weeks, closing after Friday, August 4. The survey asks users to submit a location, describe what type of damage of what was sustained and includes an option to submit photos of the damage or debris.

The survey is intended to be used for residential damage. County officials said businesses and non-profit organizations should report damage by emailing the county's emergency management agency at [email protected].

Strong storms caused downed trees and damage throughout most of northern Forsyth County Thursday night.
