FARMINGTON, Utah — Spencer Ralston had a solid day on Thursday in the opening round of the Utah Championship at the Oakridge Country Club.
The former Gainesville High and University of Georgia standout fired a 5-under par 66, which put him in a tie for 17th at the moment. However, nearly three dozen were still on the course when play was suspended due to weather.
Ralston was set to tee off at 3:45 p.m. EST on Friday but that could be pushed back depending on when the first round is completed.
Ralston carded a bogey-free round with five birdies on the day. He blistered the Par 5s going 3-under with birdies on the 2nd, 7th, and 15th holes. He added birdies on the Par 4 9th and Par 4 17th.
Sweden's Tim Widing holds the early lead after shooting a 9-under 62. He leads two others by a stroke heading into Friday’s second round.
