If you're looking for a high school football game to attend this week, your decision might be difficult.

High School football fans will have a buffet of interesting games to choose from in the opening week of the season. Three showdowns on the Jacobs Media airwaves and streaming live on AccessWDUN should give fans plenty to get excited about.

St. Frances Academy at Buford – This one will be a showdown of Power 5 talent and nationally ranked programs. St. Frances Academy, located in Baltimore, MD, is known as a national power in high school football, and, well, everybody knows Buford. St. Frances is ranked sixth. The Wolves are No. 10. So, needless to say, this one should be pretty good. The Panthers are led by a pair of four-star athletes, Ify Obidegwu and Michael Van Buren. As for the Wolves, everybody has their eyes on Arizona transfer and Georgia-commit quarterback Dylan Raiola. If you want to see this one, you might want to get to Tom Riden Stadium early. You can listen to the game on WDUN AM 550 (Click to listen live)

White County at North Hall – The Warriors broke the two-game losing streak to North Hall with a 35-14 win in Cleveland last season. This series has been back and forth since the 2013 season, with the exception of the Trojans' back-to-back wins (2020 & 2021). Since 2013, the visiting team has had the upper hand. Both teams have questions heading into the season opener. This one could come down to who can stop who one time. Will this be a shootout? It has the makings. You can hear the game on FM 102.9 WDUN (Click to listen live).

Marist at Gainesville – There's no doubt the hype train is parked at City Park, and Friday night, there will be a ton of hype. Both teams are ranked in the top 10 in Class 6A. Big Red opened the 2022 campaign with a 34-23 win over the War Eagles at their place -- the most points any team scored on Marist last season. Marist returns several key players from last season, and Gainesville has a roster full of playmakers on both sides of the ball. This one has the ingredients to be one you don't want to miss. Get there early. The game can be heard live on FM 94.5 The Lake (Click to listen live).
