Some changes for rank and file with the Banks County Sheriff's Office are in the works, as one Deputy Chief announces his retirement.

Deputy Chief Shawn Wilson is stepping down from that post after 10 years with Banks County, and 32 years of law enforcement service since 1991.

With this retirement announcement, Wilson and Sheriff Carlton Speed have also announced on social media the promotion of Major Carissa McFaddin to Deputy Chief.

McFaddin has also been with the Banks County Sheriff's Office for 10 years, with 17 total years in law enforcement, including her current role as their Headquarters Commander.
