Retired Northeast Georgia law enforcement officer passes away

Funeral services will be held later today (Wednesday, August 30th) for a retired, 40-year veteran of law enforcement in Northeast Georgia.

Former Baldwin City Police and Habersham County Board of Education Police Chief Donald Ford passed away last Thursday at the age of 72. 

Ford was born in Hart County and also served with Hartwell and Franklin Springs Police, Georgia Department of Corrections at Lee Arrendale State Prison and a number of other law enforcement throughout his career, according to Habersham County Sheriff Joey Terrell's social media page.

Ford's services are with Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville at 12:00 noon today.
