DAWSONVILLE, Ga. – North Hall's offense came alive in the second half as the Trojans ran away from Dawson County Friday night, 40-7.
After the Trojans took a 2-0 lead on a safety, Ryals Puryear reeled in a pass from Tanner Marsh early in the second quarter to stretch the lead to 9-0. Five minutes later, Ty Kemp got a receiving touchdown of his own to take a 16-0 advantage.
The Tigers found the endzone with 2:06 to play until halftime when Davis Glass capped a long drive with a 4-yard touchdown run, but the Trojans answered with a field goal as time expired in the first half to take a 19-7 lead into the break.
The second half was all Trojans as Tate Ruth came alive with two touchdown runs in the second half on the way to the win.
Ruth finished with a twam-high 112 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns, while March finished the day 22-for-29 passing for 242 yards and a trio of passing scores.
The Trojans will open up 8-4A play next week on the road against Walnut Grove, while Dawson County travels to Stephens County.
