CARNESVILLE, Ga. – Mason Sullens continued his strong start to the 2023 season with three touchdowns in the first half as Lumpkin County took down Franklin County, 46-7

Sullens finished with just 12 touches for 131 yards and three touchdowns, all of which came in the first 14 minutes of the game. Cal Faulkner got the Indians on the board first, however, on a 2-yard run before Sullens scored a 6-yard rushing touchdown on the next drive to give Lumpkin a 13-0 lead.

After the Lions got a score on a long run, Sullens answered late in the first quarter with a 4-yard score. He started the second quarter with a 12-yard touchdown run to push the lead out to 27-7. Faulkner then got going in the passing game, finding Luke Evans and Colton Lee in the second quarter to take a 40-7 lead at halftime.

Jackson Bell scored the final touchdown late in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run.

Faulkner was 13-for-17 passing for 195 yards and a pair of touchdowns, adding 27 yards and a rushing score as well.

The Indians will head down to Temple for a non-region matchup next week.
