GAINESVILLE, Ga. — The week off was good to Lanier Christian.
The Lightning rebounded from a tough opening-week loss two weeks ago to hammer Hickory (NC), 51-13, on Friday at home.
Sophomore quarterback CJ Britt had a monster game, throwing for 263 yards and 4 TDs and running in for two more scores on the night. Senior receiver Shepard Acton was Britt's main target with 6 catches for 175 yards and a TD.
Senior Bryson Pitts had 48 yards receiving and a TD, sophomore Ben Hargis had 40 yards receiving and a TD, and sophomore William Martin also caught a touchdown pass Lanier Christian (1-1).
Junior running back Noah Freeman looked sharp in his first game in the backfield, rolling out 118 yards and a TD on the ground.
The Lightning next will travel to Milner, Ga., northwest of Macon, to take on Rock Springs Christian.
