RABBITTOWN, Ga. – A crucial stop late defensively gave East Hall their first win of the 8-4A season as they took down Chestatee, 14-10.
East Hall got on the board first at the 3:36 mark of the first quarter as Jaramarcus Harrison rushed in from five yards out to take an early 7-0 lead. The War Eagles answered early in the second quarter as Jason Granados converted a 33-yard field goal to trim the lead down.
The Vikings put together another drive midway through the third quarter as Jevon Harrison reeled in a 9-yard touchdown catch with 5:11 to go in the third, but Chestatee responded early in the fourth with a Josh Kermode 1-yard run with just under nine minutes to play.
After the War Eagles got a stop, East Hall punted the ball away with just over a minute to go, downing the ball on the one yard line, and the defense forced a turnover on downs without surrendering a yard to get the win.
Next week, East Hall will travel to North Hall, while Chestatee will play host to Cherokee Bluff.
