COMMERCE, Ga. – Jaiden Daniels did it all Friday night, rushing for two scores and throwing for another as Commerce took down Banks County, 38-21.
Daniels got it going early in the first as he ran in from 21 yards out to take the early lead. After a Leopard fumble gave Commerce the ball with a short field, Tysean Wiggins plunged in from the one to double the Tiger lead.
Banks County answered early in the second quarter, taking advantage of a short field to punch it in and cut the lead in half, but Ivey Tolbert answered with a 32-yard field goal to stretch the lead back out to 17-7. Daniels found the endzone once more in the first half as he sprinted 76 yards for a 24-7 lead that would stand at halftime.
The score remained the same until late in the third when Wiggins rumbled in from 44 yards to take a 31-7 lead. Banks County scored early in the fourth quarter before Daniels threw a touchdown pass to Peyton Evans to extend the lead back out to 38-14. The Leopards scored again with 1:04 to play and the onside kick rolled out of bounds, giving Commerce their 19th win in a row over Banks County.
Commerce will continue their four-game homestand next week with a matchup against First Presbyterian, while Banks County will host East Jackson to open 8-2A play.
