It's been said that luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.  That's exactly how Sunday played out for William Byron at Texas Motor Speedway.

Byron saw the opportunity out of his front windshield when Bubba Wallace and Chase Briscoe raced side-by-side on the final restart of the NASCAR Cup Series race at the Forth Worth, Texas raceway.  Using momentum to carry him into a three-wide pass for the top spot, Byron sailed to the point and led the final six laps - his only laps led on the day - en route to his sixth win on the season and a free pass into the Round of 8 of the Playoffs.

Our Hard Left Turn crew has a look at all the news and views coming out of the weekend in the Lone Start State, and gets you ready for this weekend's race at Talladega Superspeedway.

WDUN will carry live MRN Radio coverage of Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series YellaWood 500 from Talladega Superspeedway beginning at 1 pm on 102.9 FM, AM 550 and streaming live on AccessWDUN.
