In a week where there were multiple games that had big margins of victory, there were also many games that had massive impacts on region standings.
In 7-3A, Lumpkin County got past Wesleyan, 30-21, while White County went to Dawsonville to take out the Tigers, 24-14, setting up the potential for a big-time matchup between the Indians and Warriors in three weeks. In 8-5A action, Flowery Branch took down Clarke Central in a back-and-forth affair, 41-38.
In 8-4A, Cherokee Bluff got a big win on the road at Cedar Shoals, 36-23, while East Forsyth blew past East Hall, 42-0. North Oconee continued their push for the region title with a 52-7 win over North Hall.
In other action, Buford shut out Collins Hill, 43-0; Commerce took down First Presbyterian, 28-14; Gainesville blew past Lanier, 35-0; and Habersham Central used double overtime to get past Jackson County, 34-27. Johnson also got back in the win column with a 20-17 win over Lakeside DeKalb.
