Man shot and killed in Gwinnett County hotel parking lot

The victim of the Friday homicide in Stone Mountain has been identified as 60-year-old Victor Ricks. 

57-year-old Hugh Forman was charged in relation to the incident with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and cruelty to children in the first degree.

A man was shot at a Stone Mountain extended-stay hotel parking lot on Friday.

Gwinnett County Officials said that they were called to the scene after a 9-1-1 caller reported a shooting near the back parking lot. 

When officers arrived, a man was in the parking lot suffering from “at least” one gunshot wound. 

The man was reportedly transported to a local hospital where he died from his injuries

Homicide detectives learned that the victim was shot by a male suspect.

Information so far indicates that the two men knew each other, but the suspect was not on scene when officers arrived.

The victim’s identification is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.

The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a homicide involving a person who was shot in the parking lot of a local extended stay hotel.
